Don't Do It For Money, By Ephren Taylor

Christian Articles Resource Cross Don’t Do It For Money, by Ephren Taylor

When the average person looks at someone like me, he or she probably imagines all the material things that wealth brings. I can tell you that it’s VERY nice to live comfortably but I’ll let you in on a little secret about that. It’s not the material things that will make your life fulfilling and satisfying. You’ll find that successful people don’t consider what they do to be “work” — it’s their passion, their source of energy, even their mission.

Every day I wake up with my head full of plans and ideas. I go to work and meet with people I respect and admire. For instance, much of the work we do is with the church community. We’ve helped several churches, start day cares, adult day care centers, start businesses, and helped their congregation members salvage their retirement. All of these ideas are things that went from an idea shared by a small group of people to convincing key stakeholders and some investors that it was an idea worth doing. These ideas became plans and now are fulfilled. Today I have a whole web site dedicated to helping churches Stewardship Crisis (www.stewardshipcrisis.com), we realize due to the economy church tithing, and offerings are down drastically and I have dedicated much of my work to helping churches minimize this crisis at www.stewardshipcrisis.com.

See most people NEVER have work that is fulfilling and it may be hard to imagine falling in love with your work. You may be used to thinking of a job as something that eats up your energy and drains your spirit. So you might wonder just how can someone fall in love with work?

Let me prove how it’s possible. Every day you see kids on the street with skateboards, practicing hour after hour so they can perfect their flips, turns and other stunts. They sweat, grunt get scraps, bruises, cuts and bumps CONSTANTLY. This is brutal and it really takes its toll. But, do you think they consider it work? NO WAY. It’s what they live for. Their exhaustion and pain is trumped by satisfaction and inner happiness. Some of these kids have gone on to become professionals. Now they earn hundreds of thousands of dollars doing the thing they loved doing for free - messing around on skateboards. Even if they don’t become professionals, they have FUN and they remember that in approaching other things in their life.

I believe that is true of almost all successful people. The best salesmen are energized by the selling process. Land developers like me are excited by the process of taking a drawing on paper and turning it into a new neighborhood.

What are you inspired by? Here is a radical idea..... DO IT! Come on NEO, don’t live in the matrix your whole life!

P.S.
