Weight Loss- It's A Process
Author : Cathy Morenzie
Scripture to meditate on: ”And the Lord your God will clear out those nations before you, little by little; you may not consume them quickly, lest the beasts of the field increase among you.” Deut 7:22
There’s a matter you will have to put to rest right away if you want to have victory in your weight release program and in life. Success is going to come in small, incremental steps. There will be no quick fixes or instantaneous results.
God wants to teach us lessons which are built precept upon precept. Growing and learning takes patience, the acquisition of wisdom, application of principles, applying practical acts using the theory, and learning from experience.
This is completely the opposite of what society wants us to believe. We
want everything fast. Microwaves, drive-thrus, and cardboard cups are symptomatic signs of the times. There is a downside to all the conveniences in this hurry-scurry life - they all compromise quality for speed.
In the scripture above (Deut 7:22), Moses was telling the Israelites that God would destroy their enemies little by little. Is it because God was not powerful enough to wipe them all out? Of course not! God could have taken them out in the blink of an eye. He could also wipe out all of your “demons” in the blink of an eye. But where would that leave you? How would that mature you?
If you’ve completely surrendered your weight loss to God, then know He will help you do it. You may not be able to see it now, but when you reach your goal you will be able to look back and see the transformation that God has wrought in your life.
